I hate to say this but I may be going back to 7.00 The mixing board is a mess. At least I could save the mixer settings. I have never had a Cubase crash till after the 7.02 update now the first time I tried starting a new project Cubase crashed. And trying to get the mixing board to even come close to looking like a mixing board takes 10 minutes… Getting very tired of waiting for disapointing updates.

Have you tried deleting (all) your preferences?

I have to wonder why so many people seem to have issues with Cubase/DAW’s in general. I can only say that I have never had a major issue with installation, nor the running of any version of Cubase. Minor glitches, and workflow stuff yes, but never any system slowdown, lockup, or any of the things we hear here all of the time. I don’t get it.

It must be a system, system setup, or device/driver issue with the people that have issues.

I really wish there was an easy answer to everyone’s particular complaints, and I would truly help if I could. I just find it hard to resolve an issue I have never experienced.

It’s not driver or system related when you have so many people citing the same error codes. The issue is clearly related to Steinberg’s installers, they don’t clean up the program properly, and if you are coming from a string of updates you will have even more trouble. I know this for a fact, for example if you upgraded from 4 or 5 to 6 to 6.5 to 7, the program will not work properly, VSTSounds are messed up… if you do a clean install on a clean OS there is no problem, when you hit “uninstall” Cubase should completely remove the program and all settings and registry items. They have not tested all update paths, and settings are being upgraded incorrectly… note also this time so many people are having problems with mixer settings. This ain’t system related, it’s update related.

No messed up presets. No hang on exit. No performance issues. Maybe my system is just setup and managed correctly. Either that, or Santa Claus just thinks I am a good boy, and re-installs my OS for me each year. lol

Just kidding man. But seriously, I have never had an issue with upgrades/updates not working, so I cant understand the rationality of blaming the software. It is just not true for every system.

Installed mine last night and loving it so far. Completely problem free. The EQ in the Mix Console is now usable.

Same here. I have been upgrading since version 6 (running every version between 6.0.3 and 7.0.2) without issues.

If there are installer issues, it could be an MSXML library that the MSI installer service uses (provided of course we are talking about windows).

Can anyone please confirm that VMX files don’t save fader levels?

And if they ARE saving fader levels for anyone, please confirm that here too. This is still a very big issue and I have a feeling that we (the folks who had such a hard time due to the lack of this in 7.0.1) are all back to square one again. This REALLY needs a fix along with the Variaudio issues.

After resizing/scaling the mix console, I still loose the lower part of the channels. Where the name and track color resides, are disappearing beneath the lower border.
The mixer GUI is not fixed with this update. I’m

I can minimize the fader section completely and both the channel label and track color are retained.

Track Settings load and vmx channel settings load
only load (or save) Pan and Inserts.
Sends, send level and Fader level are not being loaded.
Track Settings load, doesn’t recall Pan either.

Been waiting for 7.0.2 for how long? Two months? Now waiting will go on, for 7.0.3, surely two more months waiting, if not more. And there is no guarantee that promised fixes and functions will be there. And then more waiting. Then buying 7.5, hoping fixes will be there sometime after 7.5. Wouldn’t want to pass on 7.5, what if all fixes finally come in 7.5.3, and I was not ready for it, waiting with my shiny 7.5. Then waiting for 7.5.1… Some things were promised since C5, but are still not implemented. They said in c7 for sure. Like, I bought several versions since whenever because plugin organizer was promised. Seems I’ll have to wait some more, ha. Yup, still waiting… It’s fun, though, waiting like this. Life gets some new purpose, ha? Well, f**k it!!!

What is so show stopping that you cannot record or mix songs or write MIDI?

I recall you asking about Cubase Safe Mode.

I believe you need to start Cubase, press CTRL + SHIFT + ALT while it is loading.

i had some issues from passing from 7.0.1 to 7.0.2.it drived me crazy all night,things like bad calour settings,no more knoobs in the mixer & some other issues.
So i went on the download center of steinberg ,and i downloaded the install core data for cubase 7.
i installed it on top of the cubase update 7.0.2.
And by magic,everything seems to be working perfectly.
i hope it helps some of you out there.

I’ve wait and wait and wait, then 7.0.2 its worse than previous one… what are you doing steinberg? Now i’ve more crash situation than before on 7.0.1 what are you doing??? 2 months for a beta version of Cubase 7? I’ve payed I want a stable version, whats that? Beta, prerelease? Alfa? I never seen a platform like that. This new version is dated 28Jen one month ago?

I must to back to 7.0.1 so something does not work but i’ve no crash. Im using mac pro with 10.7.5 all plugs are original no k versions on my mac. CPU performance its worse than 6.5, asio guard? for what? Please put asio guard on 6.5 I will back to work. Nice mixer thanks, but i dont need to use ipad, i need to work and pay my bills with this DAW, im a professional user not a gamer.

Hire a professional programmer and hire professional user for beta testing before sell this scam. I’m very very hungry now.

10.7 and 10.8 are both supported OSes. Regardless of that, there are many users on both OSes that are having issues.
