Cubase Studio Weeks - Sale

As I reported, I do not have an account in the online store, this is my first online purchase. And I, accordingly, do not have any “password” in the store that you are writing about.
Please specify, does this mean that I HAVE to write my other, new email on the purchase page when filling out the form with the delivery address (different from my email, to which I am registered in “MySteinberg”)? Why am I not given the opportunity to enter the same email?
Of course, I can enter my other email, but I’m worried if there will be any problems later when registering the new version 11 in my MySteinberg account?

Have you tried the “Forgot your password?” dialogue at “Log in”. Maybe your email is in the system from an old trial?

Thank you, I found an email in the mailbox with a password that was automatically sent to me Products — Music Software & Audio Hardware | Steinberg. But I didn’t know that it automatically created a password for me

Maybe a not-so-smart question, but I bought the ‘update’ for my Cubase 10.5 pro to Cubase 11. But now I have two times Cubase on my computer (the 10.5 and the 11 version). So it didn’t update, but just installed another one. Is this normal and can I safely remove the 10.5-version? Many thanks in advance! Christoph

Yes, you can keep it or delete it. New version will always install next to the old version. Maintenance updates will replace the current version.

Is it possible to use the free upgrade from Artist to Pro if I buy a new Artist Box even though I already have Cubase Elements 10.5? Since the upgrade from Elements 10.5 to Pro is 292€ I would rather activate Elements 10.5 on a laptop for travelling and get a new Artist 11 box for 299€ then use the free upgrade to Pro 11. It makes more sense to me but is that possible or is the free upgrade offer only for the ones who haven’t activated any Cubase license?

Absolutely. Just make sure that you don’t move the Elements license in the usb dongle as well.

Hello. I am back with another question. I would like to know where I can purchase Cubase Pro 11 Crossgrade (the download) online with the discount that is being offered now. I checked out with a US dealer and they said it was restricted to US region. Also in Steinberg’s official website, I could not find the option “Saudi Arabia” for the billing address. Does that mean I can’t purchase Cubase download anywhere in Saudi Arabia? Thanks in advance.

So Elements on eLicenser and Artist-> Pro on Dongle right? Sorry I’m a rookie with this stuff.

No worries. It’s the soft eLicenser for Elements and USB eLicenser for Artist.

Uh, let me check with our sales team.

Elements to the Soft-eLicenser on the laptop, and Artist/Pro to the USB-eLicenser (dongle).

The reason is that you can never move a license from the the USB-dongle to the Soft-eLicenser later, so place the Elements license to the correct place directly (Soft-eLicenser on your laptop), so that you don’t need a dongle for your laptop.

Thank you very much

Thank you

I bought the update from Pro 9.5 to 11 within the past hour. What I got in the acknowledgement email was a download access key. I used that key to download the software, but when I try to open Cubase 11 it tells me I haven’t activated my permanent license yet, and I have 24 hours XX minutes left to do so. Trying to use the download access code for the license activation only gets me a message that says my version of eLicense Controller is too old - but I’ve already downloaded the latest version! Using my old code for 9.5 results in a message saying nothing is available to upgrade. WHAT IS GOING ON?
I tried calling support but they’re only available 4 hours a day now, so no help there.

If you enter the download code received from Steinberg into the Steinberg Download Assistant, this tool generates an activation code for Cubase11, which is normally automatically transferred to the eLCC and enters the license on the USB-eLicenser. That doesn’t seem to work for you. However, you can also display the activation code in the SDA normally and enter it manually in the eLCC (as was common some time ago).

Have you entered the download access code in the Steinberg download assistant? Did a dialogue show up with the activation code that asks you if you want to activate your product? Which license is the eLicenser Control Center showing you on your USB eLicenser?

No, a dialogue box did not pop up with the code asking if I want to register.
My eLicenser shows the current license for 9.5, and another license that was deactivated when my older usb key got damaged.

UPDATE: I reopened SDA, and found the spot to click on to enter the download access key. Once I did that, the box asking if I wanted to activate came up. I guess I must have missed that step the first time around. Thank you for the help!!
