Cubasis UI Cut off on right side of Pixel 6

Hi all,
The UI on my Pixel 6 doesn’t use the hole punch area of the screen and is cut off on the right side of the interface as if it really was using that area.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
/Chris

Cubasis 3.5
Android 13 Build TQ1A.221205.011
Pixel 6

I have a sort-of workaround to report.
Enabled developer options then set the “Display cutout” to “Render apps below cutout area”.

I assume that this will affect some apps in a manner that will be sub-optimal.
This does cause Cubasis to “properly” render in the available space adjacent to the hole, but other apps act the “same” which is not great.
I’ll report back with additional observations but I assume that this is a development topic that should be addressed?
Cheers, /Chris

After some testing, it’s especially problematic using this solution because it causes the lock screen icon and bright spot for the finger print reader / unlock to be slightly below the actual reader.
I’ve been enabling this option just to use Cubasis but set it back to default afterward.
Not a perfect work-around but as a stop-gap it does get the content on the screen.
Cheers, /C

FWIW, I have the same issue on a Galaxy A-51 (2019) (model SM-A515F/DSN) running Android 12, since the update to 3.5. Version 3.4.3 had perfect layout. The UI is cut off by some pixels on the right, whichever layout option I choose. Makes using the app a little cumbersome, as the buttons on the right are only shown half and some controls are hard to press now, in particular the little close buttons.

I got a Galaxy 7 FE tablet too and there the layout is ok (TabletXL setting). On the phone, I use Phone XL now instead of Phablet. Otherwise, the new version seems to work ok so far, and I like the new design quite much.

Thanks Christian,
I had tried “all” the screen modes and none made the items near (or off) the right edge of the screen any better on my phone than phablet.
I hope that a future update corrects this for us!
Cheers, /Chris

Hi Lars,

many thanks for the quick response! Seems Option #1 fixes the issue for the Samsung A51, everything is great again! That was easy. Didn’t know there was such an option at all, now I do. And btw Roomworks SE still works without issues, at least in regard of registration.

Thanks again, Steinberg support rocks!

Glad to read that the WA#1 option solved the problem for you!! It’s also good to know that 3.5 resolved the RoomWorks SE problem.

Thanks again, Steinberg support rocks!

Thank you!

Enjoy making music
& stay well,
Lars

I’m also experiencing the app sizing issue (right edge cut off by a few pixels) on a Huawei P20. This makes accessing the close button and right-hand-side hamburger menu options difficult.

Enabling the “cutout” (Display and brightness/More display settings/Cutout/Custom/Cubasis 3) resolves the issue with the right edge, but the camera notch then obscures a significant portion of the left edge of the app.

This sizing issue was not present on previous versions of Cubasis 3.

Same problem on a Oneplus6. Disabling the notch area through Android display (advanced) settings fixes the problem in Cubasis. Re-enabling the notch area causes the problem to return. Looks like it’s not recomputing the area properly which is weird as I don’t think Cubasis ever used the notch area anyway.
This didn’t happen in the previous 3.4.x version of Cubasis.
Oh well, minor annoyance, not a show-stopper
Cheers everyone

Thank you for the new update!

Same problem on a Fairphone 4 android 11.
All the solutions aren’t available.
What more can I do?

Hello,

I had the same issue on a Samsung A52. I fixed it with a workaround.
I had a black bar on the right side of the display where the front camera is located. I selected “Show camera hole” for the Cubasis app in Settings/Screen/Camera hole (this menu is a translation from my Italian one)
Sorry for my english

Thank you for sharing the info, that the workaround worked for you to resolve the current display issue.

Best,
Lars

Hi Lars,
No, any of the workarounds did not work!
What else can I do?

Best regards,
Herbert
