Lol…very first response in thread was make sure you are logged in to SDA with correct mail and password so if it does turn out to be that…well duh!!
Yep, I take that on the chin, but to be fair, it’s the same sign-in to Activation Manager as it always was. It’s only when I opened MySteinberg from a Safari search that this came to light.
I’ve explained the situation on, yet another, ticket. But in the mean time I’m toying with logging out of Activation Manager and seeing if I can log back in with the only other email address I have. There are only two.
If you go into MySteinberg sign in and security you can see the email and can change the password.
Then log out of SAM and back in with those details (new password). If that doesn’t show your licenses then you know for sure it’s not a user/password issue.
Looks like a plan. You can always change pass words but emails are sacrosanct. Dear me what a nightmare this has been! I appreciate your input though for sure
Sometimes all it takes is password action ![]()
Thanks for sharing - more often than not it’s not all Steinberg’s fault.
True! The court action quote was a moment of frustration. But the tech is usually beyond exception, I know that from bitter experience, even if it first appears complicated beyond the pale. Truth is though, I’ve had far more help on this thread than anything offered by Steinberg.
Cheers all ![]()
Out of curiosity…since you mentioned the word safari earlier…what happens when you walk over/drive to a location that has a windows computer (friend, neighbor, relative etc), visit the steinberg site, log in with your credentials…view your acct/licenses. Do they all appear?
Just out of curiosity when a Mac is out of the equation.
It seems pathfinder.mb.steinberg.net is the problem I get fallback so it’s connecting but not accepting…all the other hostnames connect?
Good news ![]()
I’m up and running with all my licenses intact, all nine of them… yay! And it was, after all, down to an email issue. But I’m still curious how it happened, though I’m more pleased to finally get my licenses back. Big thanks to Grim who suggested I look at that aspect in the first place ![]()
For anyone who finds this thread with a similar issue here’s how it went:-
Luckily I have only two email addresses for this type of use. So I opened Action Manager, signed out then signed back in with my other email address, searched my text folders, found the correct pass word, and… boom! There they all were ![]()
At least I’ve learned a lot. Thanks to everyone who has taken part in the thread ![]()
Seems your issue differs from mine but presented the same problem. But at least now you have some clue regarding the cause. Good luck ![]()
You owe a big apology to Steinberg.
Did you see my post here: Is anyone else having this: No Valid License Found issue? - #88 by dark_blue_man
But yeah, I managed to solve the problem myself in the end with not even an acknowledgement from Steinberg. It is what it is…
Not that it really matters, but multiple folks from the forum walked you through that and told you to begin with to make sure you were logging on with the same account. So just to be fair to all those people who took time out of their day to help, saying you “solved it on your own” is, in my opinion and as respectfully as I can say, disingenuous.
Again, it doesn’t matter in The Grand Scheme but multiple people held your hand through that one.
(Copied here because I managed to post this message to the wrong thread, derr!)
