FYI you don’t have to use the graphical event volume fader at all. You can hide it in Preferences and select a modifier for changing the event volume just by pressing the modifier key and clicking and dragging up or down on the event… set this up in Preferences>Editing>Tool Modifiers>Select Tool>Edit Velocity… try setting this modifier to Ctrl, for example. This is lightning fast and fuss free to use. Of course, you can also change the event volume using keyboard shortcuts for increment/decrement volume.
