He’s also said if you haven’t received an email invite, you can private message him directly (click on his forum icon and click ‘Message’) and ask for a discount code for use in the preview sale… I just did, and he got back to me within minutes. Nice.

At least it is not an exclusive offer if people can request a code. Coupon discounts seem only to be available until end 26/10/23 though.

This is what I would really value at the moment. So many things are quick and easy in Dorico that it’s all the more frustrating when some quite basic things swallow up a lot of time.

To @DonRai (welcome to the forum!) and anybody else who stumbles upon this thread: I’m afraid the preview event for the new online shop ended several days ago. I can’t send any further vouchers for the new shop at this time.
Hopefully to see the update very soon, especially with the crash issue in print mode I reported fixed. I am about to have a Dorico introduction and training session to the committee of our church. I hope they can have a very pleasant experience and be amazed about the power and ease of use Dorico can bring to our projects.

The next Dorico update is not imminent. There are a couple more big releases and an important sales promotion queued up ahead of the next Dorico update, but it will be with you (just) before the end of the year.

Dear Daniel,
On one hand I totally understand the huge workload your team is trying to accomplish and I wish to support it with all my heart.
On the other hand the present version of Dorico, while amazing, has some serious issues like humanise note start not working anymore, that makes Dorico’s music output a shadow of what it used to be in May.
It is also becoming very difficult for those like me who are in the process of creating deeply customised Playback Templates based on custom instruments, knowing that deep changes in this domain are (more or less) imminent. I am concentrating on Expression and Percussion Maps at the moment but that’s not gonna hold until Christmas.
So if there is any slight chance of splitting the next release in two, based on what seems the most urgent to your team, I hope you would eventually consider the possibility.
I am fully aware you guys are on full throttle already and it pains me to sound like I am urging you… but I still feel better by letting you know how urgent this next release is for some of us !!
We know it’s been a longer than usual gap between releases. The unexpected problems with the online shop put all our plans for the final three months of the year into disarray. We have now adjusted our plans as best we can, and we decided that we would essentially fold two planned releases together into one. This allows us to get out of the way of the major product launches that will deliver more revenue to the company as a whole. I’m sorry that this means you have to wait several more weeks for the update. It will be worth the wait.

I believe that what Daniel said is that it is a global Steinberg issue, and not a standalone Dorico issue. Dorico and the team have to wait in line for their turn into that promotional gateway.

It won’t be a paid upgrade, but free for existing D5 users. If you plan to upgrade to D5 anyhow, you can do it now (in safe distance to New Years Eve)
