Problem Steinberg licensing

Hi
Cubase pro10.5 hub does not connect to the internet at startup Does anyone have the same problem, has anyone solved the problem? I have contacted support several times. But Steinberg ignores the problem and does not give a direct answer.
After I switched to Steinberg licensing, many of my plugins do not appear, for example Simon Philips Drums. Waiting for help, but has anyone else had the problem and solved it?
I use Cubase pro 10.5 and I want to upgrade to Cubase pro 11. But support says it is not possible Steinberg does not sell and does not support older Cubase versions anymore. I have to buy Cubase 14, is the answer. Now I am pissed off again. Should Steinberg decide which Cubase I want to use. If I want to use Cubase 11, Steinberg will not sell it to me, that is strange, we are completely in the hands of Steinberg.
Is there anyone who wants to sell Cubase pro 11 or 12 on a dongle, I am interested?
Creativity first, but is this creative Steinberg?

Hi,

the only way to get what you want is indeed to buy a used version. Maybe have a look at knobcloud or other marketplaces for software. This forum is not supposed to be a market place, I’m afraid.

Good luck!

Thanks

That is the case with all software packages from basically all vendors. You always buy the latest release.

If you buy the latest release Cubase 14 you will automatically get access to all previous releases, including Cubase 11. Of course it will require the old USB eLicenser, but that is something you are currently using anyway with Cubase 10.5

As @Reco29 said, this is not a marketplace and since Cubase 12 there is no dongle anymore. It uses Steinberg Licensing and the dongle is obsolete.

Absolutely, because you get access to all previous releases, not just explicitly Cubase 11.

Hi I’m not interested in C14. I think it’s strange that I HAVE to update to C 14 and pay a lot of money for something I don’t want. Now I’ve realized that C11 has what I need so I want to update. I don’t want things I don’t need.
Creativity first again

Hate to say it but that is the way life works. Steinberg discontinued Cubase 11 four years ago now, its no longer their current product, Cubase 14 is. You have chosen to stay behind and that’s just the way it goes.

Try buying Windows XP from Microsoft and see how far that gets you.

Try contacting Milwaukee or DeWalt and ask them for US made power tools. They dont make them anymore, you’re stuck with the current product on the market.

Should Steinberg have to run and cater to folks that still want to run VST 5 too?

Judging by a lot of posts on this forum, a whole heap of people think just that.
“Neon is my favurite VST, and Steinberg is real Mean to stop include it in Cubase! retrolog just Doesnt’t compare!”

There’s someone over at KvR complaining about the system requirements of todays Cubase Pro and trying to compare it to VST 3.7 almost 30 years ago heh..

I think some people just want to complain more than they want to actually solve any given problem. There are accounts here that I’m quite sure are not only troll accounts, but held by the same entity. Some are valid of course, but others are just too much to give any credit to.

Hello
Cubase 11 4 years for me it’s a short time. That’s the problem with today’s consumer society, for me it’s a short time for Steinberg it’s a long time. It has become a requirement to send out incomplete programs. Steinberg closes eyes, and sees what happens.
It should be a law how long a product should exist or work. If you buy a Dewalt or Milwake if it’s broken or bad, I get a new one. But not with computer programs. There is an unwritten law that it should be complicated with computers , and everyone thinks that’s okay …strange.? I’ve been faithful to Cubase since 1990 .How many hours and weeks have I spent trying to get it to work. Who pays me for it? If my boss knew, we wouldn’t use Steinberg products. But Cubase is good when it works i like it .
There is so much to say about this, for example. Who controls how music should sound, but we’ll take that another time.
Say it again Creativity first

Not to pick nits, but it sounds like you’ve been faithful to Cubase IN 1990, not SINCE 1990. If you were faithful since 1990, you’d already be using C14 Pro and we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Consumer product protection laws exist in multiple countries. I’ve seen posts from SB staff refunding people when circumstances dictated. Your time to make any such claims seems to have been in 2019. And, in fact, you’ve already said 10.5 does everything you want it to do. So what you’re asking for is some “law” that forces a developer to provide support for every iteration of every product through perpetuity, which is fantasy on par with Roger Zelazny (that’s a compliment).

[Addendum] My Bad. I thought the OTHER guy was saying HE was 70. NM @Googly_Smythe

Lord Of Light is one of my favourite novels, since I bought it at Forbidden Planet in Wardour Street, 1977.
Completely off topic, so apologies.

Hi yes I am happy with Cubase 10.5. But when I switched to Steinberg licensing Cubase stopped working normally. I contacted support no help. Contact again, reply upgrade to C11. I upgraded to 11, it didn’t work at all. Contact again, reply no it doesn’t work, you have to update to 14 they couldn’t say that straight away, so I would have saved a week. And this has been going on for almost 3 weeks and the support is not the fastest. I am getting a little pissed off

Cubase 10.5 or 11 do not support Steinberg Licensing at all, they still need the USB eLicenser.

Of course not, you need at least Cubase 12 for Steinberg Licensing.

I still don’t understand what your problem is. You want to use Cubase 11 and you want to pay for it. So far so good, so just pay the update price, ignore that you can now download Cubase 14 and download Cubase 11 instead. You get that license together with the C14 update.

So where is your problem now?

Wait so, you wanted to upgrade to 11? But you already DID upgrade to 11? But you also ‘upgraded to Steinberg Licensing’??

None of this makes any sense at this point..

Thank God! I thought it was just me! Whew.

It’s so simple that I contacted support about the fact that, when I start Cubase 10.5, the USB hub does not connect to the internet. It’s that simple. Then the whole carousel with C11 and Steinberg licensing started and C10.5 stopped working. I just got an email fs anymore.
Who should I contact now??? . I’m not going to pay 6000 SEK for a simple question.rom Marco from Steinberg he can’t help me, this is none of his busines

I realize this has been mentioned already, but @Cayabaja, you don’t seem to include this info in your discussion.

C11 does not use Steinberg Licensing, it still uses the Elicenser.

There is no term “USB Hub” in regard to the Elicenser, could you please clarify what you are referring to?

I don’t care about C11 anymore. So I don’t want any help suggestions for C11, but for C10.5 please. I just want to get C10.5 working. That’s enough for me
I mean “Steinberg Hub”
