Prologue Factory Presets

They’re factory presets from 8.5 and you can see factory presets in 10.5. my project is in 14 and I now know project cor files can’t go backwards. So in 8.5 I’m saving every preset so that Prologue will work in the other Cubase versions

I am. (And no offence taken :+1:)
Here is an Explorer window open on my Prologue user presets, and Cubase 14.0.30 with Prologue, Mystic and Spector open. All 3 can “see” my presets and the factory presets. I’ve left the Prologue Load dialog open, and you can see my presets at the top (I usually add a # sign at the start of the name). My presets date from around 2012 ( :scream:) and I used Prologue mainly for basses.
The synthengine file I’m using is from Cubase 9.5 (Cubase 11 uses the same file, at least it has exactly the same size and datestamp).
Why it works here and not elsewhere is anyone’s guess.
Come October I shall probably switch to Win 11, and then we shall see what we shall see. If I remember, I’ll add a post, somewhere, to say how I got on with these 3 synths.

EDIT
For the life of me, I don’t know how to stop the forum software resizing my screenshots - the original is 2700 pixels wide and nice and sharp. Hey ho

Thanks I’ll check tomorrow when I’m back on the computer.

Do I need to have mystic and spector installed too ?

They’re all in the one dll.

They are big - you just have to click on them twice.

Indeed - plenty of detail, including your desktop background which is clearly that iconic lamp from A Christmas Story.

I wouldn’t be so sure about the lamp knowing @Googly_Smythe:wink:

This is what I got also.

Close, but no cigar! Lara for the win! (Screenshot from a Tomb Raider game - I don’t care!! Ha ha!)

That’s the same as mine for the user presets (As your screen snap)
But I can’t see the factory presets in cubase 13 or 14

I just loaded up Cubase 12 as well.
Exactly the same, can used presets but not factory presets.
Is this because when i run 8.5 64bit it uses part of the x86 32bit program too ?

You can get them in Cubase 11. I sat for a while last night saving the Factory presets as User presets. Got through “F”. If I get done, I’ll zip them up and stick on Drive and share.

Thanks. I’ve tried different things this morning
I notice if i Click the button to the right of the Attribute button
The filter menu’s blink on for a second and then off
So, I’m assuming this is a software bug for some users

Just got through the “L’s”. That’s 170 presets saved out of 334. I’ll finish up tomorrow and post a link.

I’m just re-down loading 10.5 hopefully that’ll have to do for some projects.
I’m annoyed that Steinberg aren’t that bothered about the customer.
I thought we’d got rid of all the losses with the introduction of 64bit but it seems they keep taking away good usable stuff.

Many Thanks for doing these

I remember an explanation being given at some point - though I can’t remember the details. I do remember it being reasonable. Those synths were third party and licensed in by Steinberg. Can’t remember if the company went out of business or what.

OK, done with the Prologue Presets. Windows people can just click the link and download the self-extracting file. As @Googly_Smythe stated above, the presets should be extracted to

C:\Users\ {Username}\Documents\VST3 Presets\Steinberg Media Technologies\Prologue\

I believe the Mac path is fairly similar.

Link to preset self-extracting archive for Windows:

Let me know if you have any issues. Maybe I’ll get around to doing Mystic and Spector at some point.
Enjoy!
