And maybe Nuendo 13 wont be too far behind Cubase 13 now ![]()
Iām sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Asknet. So far as I know, Asknet is able to charge directly in Canadian dollars (indeed, it is able to manage payments in many different currencies) so you should have been charged directly in Canadian dollars. The only reason I can think of why you might have been charged in Euros is either that your internet connection was proxied or using a VPN such that it appeared your IP address was geolocated elsewhere in the world.
If this was a recent purchase, you can still contact Asknet for help, as they still have an obligation to provide customer service in respect of existing orders. If you want us to follow up on your behalf, please send me a direct message with the details, and I will see what I can find out.
Just to be clear, Iām not the chief of anything ![]()
But I am happy to help answer questions from our customers about this unprecedented situation and to provide what support I can for specific problems that may arise.
Thanks for your availability !
Hoping to do the H7 upgrade myself - its a beast.! Will have to wait some more; updating to C13 first (whenever that is). ![]()
I like Domās stuff too, but will also be following this man (Anthony Chisnall) whoās posted a very comprehensive tutorial series on his YouTube channel (One Man And His Songs), all about H7 - he really digs in.! Covers all aspects/features with good demonstrations and (technical) explanation. Recommended.!
Halion 7 Tutorial #1 - Our First Look at Halion 7 - YouTube
Hey, thatās a very nice channel, I didnāt know that before. Subscribed, thanks for the hint! ![]()
His Groove Agent 5 series is extremely good as well.
Good to hear, because I still need to learn quite a bit about Groove Agent! Thanks! ![]()
Is it likely that this situation is holding up the release of updating to Cubase / Nuendo 13?
It is holding up all planned product releases for the whole company, since we cannot currently sell updates and upgrades to existing customers.
Sounds a bit cheeky but as thereās a couple of videos floating around on the internet of Cubase 13 what about ( while we are delayed and to keep us with our hands in our wallets ready to purchase ) releasing an official teaser of C13 .
This is the first time in my history with Steinberg (which is a long one ) that im genuinely excited about this release . We know itās ready , we know you are just waiting to make sure the shop will be able to cope with the Tsunami of buyers on the first day so , pretty please , just a little official teaser ( said in an addicts voice )

I think theyād just prefer to be able to sell it to us, be done with it, and get back to doing what they know best, that is, how to make the next version of each product.
This reminds me of that one time Iād been in a restaurant and I donāt why, but there was such a rush, jaws were on fire, people were ordering stuff even though theyād long ran out of table to serve them on, waiters were barely managing to carry trays and pull their hair at the same time, it was all too much really. And just before the fat Sffz attack and molto pesante chord of this great crescendo, power goes out. Soooo⦠after the initial shock, staff and clientele (after some futile, albeit spirited, efforts to eat in the dark) engaged sheepishly into this kind of small talk since there was nothing else to be done, you know -Howās Johnny, still at primary school? Got his second divorce just last month?! You donāt say! etc etc. this went on for some excruciating minutes. But as soon as the power came back, everything went back to normal(?).
Now, Iām not sure this is a good story, but Iām sure everything is going to be alright in the end.
For the time been, just show us some new features videos from the new products.
May be ask Mr. Ondo to showcase them? That would be cool.
I am sure this will keep us saving up even more to purchase it when in it is available. So you can have our money . No brainer
Wish the info was never leaked, now I am absolutely rabid waiting for CB13s release. I would have been perfectly fine waiting, but now I can barely look at CB12
.
Best of luck to everyone at Steinberg with the whole situation. Thanks for hanging out and answering our questions.
Phew, I thought youāre gonna say āthis one time in bandcampā¦ā.
Dear Steinberg Development Team.
The basis for all of us who work with your products is that you earn money.
So donāt stress and take the time you need to update your online shop.
Until then, donāt worry about whatās not going quite right elsewhere.
Best regards
CKB
Good morning,
I wish I had purchased an update. So impossible.
BUT: I would have liked to be able to register my email address to receive the announcement of the reopening of the store.
THANKS !
Just a practical question concerning my account, my visa card get expired this month and I had to change on some web shops in order to activate the new one.
Then I thinked to actual pb at Steinberg and about my ācustomer accountā, order history and means of payment : is it maintained by steinberg, by Asknet or the two of them ?
Any detail on this and related security ?
Steinberg does not save your card details, so there is nothing to update in your Steinberg account. Your order history is maintained by Asknet and for the time being you can continue to log in to your Asknet shop account to look at your orders, but at some stage in the future (we do not know when) this will very probably become unavailable. You will have received an email receipt for every purchase from the Steinberg online shop, so you should check that you have been retaining these for your records. For every product you have activated, we of course have a complete record. If you are sitting on unused activation codes or Download Access Codes, you should ensure you have these stored safely (e.g. in your email receipts) so that you are not dependent on the Asknet purchase history.
Might be worth putting this info in the FAQ, to save yourself some headaches (or at least reduce them) in the future.
