Yes, 1 week ago (computer change). What I have to do, in this situation.
It’s been almost a week…no fix…no response to my support request and no upgrade. NOTHING!
It’s really pretty sad…
I will follow up with my colleagues tomorrow on this topic and get back to you.
Yes, it has been reactivated, but I had this issue for about 2 days prior to reactivation. Given that I could not get the grace period check to recognize the license on my MacBook, I reactivated it on a Windows machine, still no luck. I reactivated it a 2nd time a day later to move it back to my MacBook.
This isn’t just my worst experience with Steinberg tech support - it’s my worst experience with tech support, PERIOD. Whatever you asked me to do somehow destroyed my Cubase installation and now I have to do a fresh install and pray that’ll solve it.
Not sure what ‘uncheck’ ‘run as administrator’ entails. There was no checkmark next to ‘run as administrator’. In short, there was nothing to ‘uncheck’.
Nothing is working right about his anyhow, it’s a very frustrating experience.
@Tom_Kaduk Sorry- if you changed the name of the wrong folder that could happen. A reinstall of Cubase Pro 11 should work though. Be sure to install only that before proceeding further.
Sorry for getting worked up, I know you’re trying to help. I’m just really stressed out right now. I changed the name of “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager” to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager HIDDEN.” Was that not the right folder?
Yes, it is the same.
“If your Cubase 11 license shows “not upgradeable” it means your update has completed OK”
But it hasn’t completed OK, as I cannot run Artist 12 because Activation Manager has no licenses, and running Cubase Artist 12 results in “No License Found.”
@Tom_Kaduk It was, but that could not have the result you described where C11 lost its shortcut.
But don’t worry. Install Cubase Pro 11 - you need only the program installer:

Hi Ben
It was, but after I read your reply to another user with the same issue, I changed it, but that didn’t work.
So I re-downloaded the elicenser software to be on the safe side, but despite everything showing I have an elicense, the activation manager says I have no products.
Did you try the Grace Period check again having switch off the “Run as administrator”?
I say this respectfully, but as a frustrated long-time customer… can you please talk to Ben because you guys are telling me opposite things, which means that one of you is inevitably misinformed. I would like to know whose support/advice I can trust. Thank you
For me I had to play with my browser .
I made sure Cubase and my browser were accepted in the firewall and then I went into my browser and played with all the settings .
I don’t even remember what I did but it worked .
Sorry I can’t be more specific
I’m afraid that I’ll never get my new license… it should be automatic and my license without elicenser should already appear in mysteinberg products… the feeling is as if you don’t count on anyone, except god… always I have loved Steinberg, especially Cubase, why do you treat me like this after so much unconditional love? ![]()

I made all stuff maintenance and nothing…
@Ben_at_Steinberg, Yes that’s right. As I specified before, the license was reactivated at some point due to windows reinstallation. There are many of us in the same situation. What should we do in this case? Thanks!
It was pretty clear here , once i had done the various updates on windows , Cubase updated quick and simple via the SAM , no problems at all .
Buy Cubase .
Enter code in MY STEINBERG "Redeem licence "
Enter redeemed licence in Elicencer .
Download and install C12 … Job done ! ![]()
Hi Ben
Yes, I tried that. I even restarted my computer after I updated everything and it still shows no products? Yet, I’m running cubase 11 elements with a usb dongle plugged in and that works fine. But when I’m trying to update to 12, the activation manager still shows no products.?
