This one is driving me crazy. In Preferences under VST - “Mute Pre-Send when Mute” is not being saved when I uncheck this box. I’ve hit ‘apply’ and OK but keep having to disable this preference every single time I open the project.

Just a thought to try…
Try going into the Cubase Edit>Preferences>General>Open Projects in Last Used View dropdown and pick “Always”.
Regards
Thanks Prock, I’ll give it a try.
Quick question - when changing a Preference setting, do we always have to hit “Apply” and then “OK” or is “OK” enough? New to Cubase (possibly making the switch from Logic) and want to make sure I’m doing it correctly. Thanks!

Hitting ok by itself is enough. Of course hitting apply then ok works too.
Regards.
Unfortunately that didn’t work. I’ll submit a support ticket.
Thanks again for the help, much appreciated
bumping this - did you get anywhere with SB on this ?
long thread here showing the problem and the slightly weird reasoning behind it
but it’s basically a bug
This issue has been around for probably 6-7 years now. Come on Steinberg!
here’s the reply from the ever helpful Oscar at steinberg:
If you have not already done it, I suggest downloading the latest Cubase Pro 10.0.50 update and eLicenser Control Center version which are available at links below:
Cubase 10 Updates and Downloads | Steinberg
https://www.steinberg.net/en/company/technologies/elicenser.html
Please initialise the program preferences by performing these steps:
Close all programs.
Open the ‘Run’ command prompt by pressing the Windows logo key + R simultaneously.
In the command line of the ‘Run’ window, enter this path: %appdata%/Steinberg
Locate the folder which is named the same as your Steinberg program, for example 'Cubase 10_64’.
Rename it (for example to "x_Cubase 10_64”) in order to hide it.
Important: If you find folders of previous program versions, make sure to hide or remove them too.
Next time you start the program, a new folder with fresh preferences and default settings will be created - which hopefully fixes the problem you’ve experienced.
Preferences that you have grown accustomed to and that have taken a lot of time to configure - the key commands (Key Commands.xml) for instance - can be copied from the inactive folder to the newly created active preferences folder at a later point.
More details on the preferences can be found here:
