Waiting for C6.5.5 update.

It is a vst3 plug-in, so its a *vst3-file - just one…

OK, thanks.

Would I be correct in assuming that the channel strip is not a “vst3 plug-in”?

I´m not a programmer, but it has sidechain, so it certainly is according to VST3 specification - if it can be called a plugin or not - I don´t know - in any case, it is embedded into the Cubase GUI.

Alexis, you’re off topic. Move your questions elsewherre please.

I’m still waiting :open_mouth: …do you think it’s time to give up :frowning:

Naw.

I think ChrisW is right.

I’d guess that all hands are at the Cubase 7 pump.

I agree.
Seems to be some strange ‘Mix Console’ graphic issues going on over there.

Once that’s all done…C6.5.5. Yea!
{‘-’}

No!

Just make more noise!

Oh dear, what cans are you trying to open

Not trying to open any cans! Just responding to this post on page 4 of this thread:

The purpose of the question was to help me decide, until the C6.5.5 came out, whether I wanted to buy 7.05 upgrade. If it was possible to drag functionalities of 7.05 into 6.5, I’d be more inclined to buy 7.05 now, rather than later.

Out of respect for you and mr roos who feels that my post was off topic, I won’t post about that on this thread any more, opening a new one instead perhaps.

Sorry for any inconvenience!

curteye, hm. I know this isn’t world shaking stuff, getting a DAW program out, but you would think Steinberg would better support the fans of it’s software. Oh they offer support, this forum is part of it, but here I speak to the delay in offering the final C6.5 update. They offered it, BTW, I did not hold a gun to them.

I also have to remind myself that this is business for them. On that note, like MS, I think their concern is with C7 because it brings in the most money currently. That said, I am hoping there is some time for them to address the concerns of the folks who seek the crumbs that - hopefully - fall from the C7 table. Afterall, even MS is still sending out updates for XP, long after they said they would support it. And why not? A fan is still a fan and there should always be hope that the new offering (C8?) might appeal to the users of C6.5, just like myself and a lot of DAW folks went from XP to Win7. Say what you will about MS, they learn from their mistakes - and have kept their fans for the most part.

I was joking and very interested in your digression. I thought Mr Roos was a bit harsh, we’re all shooting the breeze at this point, and you’re idea to move elements under the hood is relevant to this thread, I don’t know if Steinberg likes it, but it is interesting discussion at the least.

I was laughing to myself thinking these guys want to try and move that darn mixer into 6.5 as VST  Why would you want to even think of it.

+1 m.

ROTFLMAO!!!

I have to say Cubase 5.5.x was the best Cubase I have used to date. I’m on 6.5.x now, and while it is better than it was before, it does not feel as smooth and refined as the previous iteration. I’ll wait for 7.5.x before I upgrade again, but I have been looking at alternatives; primarily because C6 seems jittery and timing suffers under heavy loads.

Aloha z. Wise thinking.

But keep in mind that even with a future C7.5. there may be still
(and most likely) be probs with C7.5 and Mac OS 10.6.x. playing nicely together.

Seem 10.7 and 10.8 is the Mac ‘bed’ on which Cubase wants to jump around.

So is Steinberg going to leave Cubase broken once again? :imp:

Or is the 6.5.5 coming anytime “soon”?

I have C7, but it´s way more sluggish and glitchy than C6.5.

Has there been any suggestion that Steinberg may come out with 7.5.5 with “classic mixer” option?

I think that would be a nice transition. I feel like a lot of time will pass without me learning the nuances of brand 7, sometimes I feel a little left out. I have a bunch of 7 reading material that I do not want to start yet…

If you are on 6.5 what will it take to move you to 7? Eventually for me I think I will have to, I don’t like to fall TOO far behind when its a ‘real’ update.

So Steiny - when can we have the update?

YEA!
Any bets there will still be some probs with it?
Maybe even some new ones. What then?

   Just joking of course but for sure, fingers crossed.

No fix for Variaudio in that list .
