Was Visibility Lock / and or / Mixer Lock Added to Cubase 11?
I’ve created a feature request a while ago
It would be great if a user can lock configurations. That would help when adding new tracks that this feature prevents that newly added tracks auto populate to all configurations.
At the moment if a user has say 10 or 20 configurations in place whenever a number of tracks get added the user has to manually remove the newly added tracks from all configurations and that doesn’t make sense in my opinion.
A key command toggle Lock/unlock current configuration would prevent that issue.
I have a co…
In this project, I have a lot of VCA faders doing different things - around 8 to 10 or so.
– Some trim down the volume of groups of instruments without losing the balance I’ve dialed in
– More VCAs control the above VCAs to trim the volume of sections of music without affecting balance
– A few more VCAs control ^^ these ^^ VCAs for automation purposes only (because I hate having to control balance via “trim automation” once automation has been written)
That’s a fair amount of VCAs, and I don…
So don’t use the Show All Tracks command.
Create a condition on those tracks or channels that the PLE can filter –like the name– and create a preset that shows all tracks except for those so named. Invoke that preset from a keystroke.
Or, put the preset it in the Visibility folder of the the PLE presets folder, and it will appear in the Track Visibility Agents>Advanced Agents menu and the Edit>Process Project Logical Editor
I find a visibility function very comfortable and useful and I’m about to use it more and more.
Usually there’re a lot of auxiliary channels in my projects that I actually don’t need but can’t remove. Also FX channels or Groups that I don’t want to see all the time when I choose Show All Tracks.
So I suggest to have a separate function in visibility panel to lock visibility state for any channel. And a simple way to bypass locking of course.
I would love to have my main busses locked in terms of visibility, even some other useful tracks. This way, when i switch from one cue to another, using ranges and asking to only “show tracks with data between the locators”, i would keep essential tracks (essential but without visual data) always visible too. It would be awesome.
it’s been discussed/suggested before.
I think locking Visibility Configurations would be good.
Yes. Yah, yerps yeah yup. +1. Selectively pls, like “lock” visibility cfg
Visibility, correct. Anytime a track of any kind gets added it also gets added to my mixer configs. I was hoping it would be possible to lock the visibility settings in the mixer window only. I guess not?

My oh my this is an old old thread!!
But I wanted to chip in because I had exactly the same question. (And in Cubase 9 it’s still the same)
Whilst it’s true that you can’t lock the mix position (I take this to mean the mixer view - not locking all the faders, but I don’t think that is what was meant)
What I’ve discovered I can use to more or less do this is the “Add Configuration” feature.
And very usefully any new configs that you save (which are project specific) become available on all th…
Strange. Cubase and Nuendo both are at V11 now and still NO option to lock visibility configs???

It has certainly been asked for a lot… it doesn’t seem on the surface like it should be to complicated to add… but who knows… when it comes to code… changing anything can be very complicated.

…I’ve got 20 Project visibility configurations in my template, and the same amount for MixConsole.
Every time I add a track, it gets added to 40 Configurations…
I really hope we see this improved in the next version

Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe Version 25 will finally get that fixed.
