Steinberg EXTREMELY need to fix it because I don’t want to switch my DAW just because of this only major problem. Catastrophic problem. 6 months of regular updates is just a useless labour
What CPU are u using? If it is an Alderlake CPU then this is a known problem and a pain in the backside for many months now for Cubase as it sometimes prioritises E-Cores over P-Cores which causes spikes and dropouts.

I know its not something one wants to hear. But if you need to get work done and before doing all the hard work to switch to another DAW, why don’t just use the prior working version?
I mean C12 has some nice additions, but the overall working experience is not that different.
Dongle-free operation. It’s extremely important for me and this is the main reason for me to spend 100 euro for update. But I forced to use C11 for that tasks. I’m 100km away from possible nuclear disaster and I will not have much time and possibility to take all my stuff if russians decide to make it happened

I’m on Alder Lake CPU (i512600K) - Windows 11 - Cubase 12.0.40 - Focusrite 2i4 First gen (128 Buffer).
All is completely stable for me now. But I needed to do two things:
I have Steinberg Power Scheme enabled and Hyperthreading - Everything is standard in my BIOS other than disabling the on-board audie for my motherboard.
When I run Cubase and look at Resource Monitor - all my cores are being used.
That is great man but for me is a different story with the 12900k, it is also worth noting Steinberg themselves have encountered this E-Core problem after I reported it around 4-5 months ago.
There is an increase in performance with the Steinberg Power Scheme off, an increase in performance when using the Windows High Performance mode and even better performance when Bitsum was used. I also made a private video demonstrating this and the experiment is repeatable, consistent with no deviation between sessions whether the session was populated or blank, you immediately see the difference in the Cubase performance meter as u switch power schemes.
Appreciate what your saying. Does seem weird that some folks are now at a stable point and others aren’t. Do you think this might be down to other things as it doesn’t seem to be a consistent CPU, OS, Cubase version or Cubase setting that is causing the problems?
Big Steinberg fan here. But ain’t gonna lie…So many freezes/crashes w C12 N12. 
I re-create the projects in Reaper and have no issues. Hope this is sorted sometime soon.
I’ve been using Cubase since the mid-90s and it’s always been Crash-base.
I was finally stoked they did away with the dongle, but Cubase is now crashing predictably on the daily. All I have to do is leave it idle for a couple hours, and when I come back it is unresponsive with the spinning beach ball. It really is just a hopeless love affair of charity.

I think like all computers, if u build 2 systems exactly the same one will be different, at the end of the day Cubase works fine for me with Bitsum enabled. Steinberg did inform me a while ago they contacted Intel on the issue and Steinberg will have to implement the applicable API to deal with the Alderlake architecture but as u say, if some peoples systems are fine and others are not I do not know where this is on the Steinberg ‘TO DO LIST’ unless enough people reports the same problem.
Going down the line E-Cores are not going away, all new CPU’s from Intel going forward will have E-Cores so this may motivate Steinberg to do something about it, well I would hope.
12.0.50 - still unusable on low buffer sizes

Check your cpu load, maybe some 3rd party software use all of it
No, it’s C12 problem. C11 in same projects works as it should, C12 has constant spikes (dancing ASIO meter + audio dropouts)
Can you share your specs?
Because i’m using Cubase 12 in 3 different machines (windows), and 1 old macbook late 2011 via bootcamp. At all this machines i can easily use low buffers 32-64.
As already stated: the asio meter was updated on C12. It is supposed to jump more than on C11.
As already stated: it just doesn’t work as should. Don’t tell me about “another meter”, etc. C 11 holds a lot of performance on low buffers, C12 is weak even on monitoring empty tracks. That’s not mine problem, that’s c12 doesn’t work

On all those machines C11 works well
I’m tired to explain it to everione each time when Steinberg do nothing to fix it
