P1-nano (Mackie Control protocol) Jog Wheel Inverted in Focus mode - Cubase 14.0.32

Hello,I’m experiencing an issue with the jog wheel on my iCON P1-nano in Cubase 14.0.32.

When using the jog wheel to adjust a plugin parameter in Focus mode, the direction of the jog wheel is inverted. Specifically, turning the wheel clockwise decreases the value, and turning it counter-clockwise increases the value.

This behavior did not occur in Cubase 13, It only started after updating to Cubase 14.

This issue affects all plugins I have tested.

Moving the song position is normal, but the direction is reversed only in Focus mode.

My system is as follows:

Controller: iCON P1-nano (using Mackie Control protocol)

DAW: Cubase 14.0.32

OS: MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1

P1-nano Firmware: 1.22

I have confirmed that the issue is not related to controller settings, as it worked correctly in the previous Cubase version.

There is no setting to reverse the rotation direction of the jog dial in either the P1 Nano-iMap utility or Cubase.

It appears to be a bug introduced in Cubase 14, similar to issues reported by users of other Mackie Control devices.

Please look into this issue.

Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Does P1-nano have a MIDI Remote script? Or does it really use the old Mackie Control protocol?

What does the Focus mode mean? What exactly do the Jog Wheel controls in this mode? Is it the AI Knob?

Could you link them, please?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it is connected as a Mackie Control under Remote Devices(Legacy).

Focus mode is a mode that can be used by pressing the “Focus” button to switch the jog dial function. When you place the mouse cursor over the knob on the VST plug-in GUI and turn the jog dial, the knob will turn.
I think this function is very similar to the AI knob.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give an update on this issue.

I’ve confirmed that the jog wheel inversion problem in Focus mode (Mackie Control protocol) has been fixed in Cubase 14.0.40.

Everything now works as expected — turning the wheel clockwise increases values and counterclockwise decreases them.

Many thanks to the Steinberg team for addressing this so quickly, and to everyone who helped confirm the issue.

Best regards,

Hidemi
