Rev-x

A few years this came in the settings of Cubase. I don’t own a Rev-x or something with that name, and so also don’t need and own a license for this.
Does anyone knows how to get rid of this i

n the Reverb section
In the Steinberg Activation app there’s no mention of Rev-x either.

No idea, however, you are not alone:

REV-X is part of the Basic FX suite. If you used that in the past…
And it was authorized with the eLicenser system before. If it is registered to your MySteinberg account, there should be a voucher for the Steinberg Licensing available.

Do you have a Steinberg audio device? In that case you have probably installed the BasicFX suite, which contains this.
Download the latest update for your Interface and it will be activated via Steinberg Licensing, the Activation Manager.

Here is a link to the UR44C Interface, you need to look for your Interface

Oh, didn’t know there is an update. I will take a look, because the Basic FX is today the only thing in my studio PC that needs my elicenser.

REV-X is a hardware chip based reverb FX on select steinberg audio interfaces that is also available as a plugin that you can use in cubase if you installed the “Basic FX Suite” from your hardware’s support page (UR44 as an example).

A new update to Basic FX Suite is released which uses the newer license system. As a result, you’ll see licensing errors since e-licenser won’t work.

If you have your hardware registered and have previously registered basic FX suite on elicenser, you can transition to new license.

To make the transition:

  1. Download Steinberg download assistance:

  2. Login to your account.

  3. Click Vouchers. You will see a new code to upgrade Basic FX Suite.

  4. Copy code and paste it into download assistance code. This will activate the plugins for use in cubase.

Your plugins will start working again without errors from here on out.
