I am trying to set-up certain VST instruments (Spire, Dune3, Vital) on midi remote controller surface. I can add KNOBS, FADERS and PADS but i can’t for the life of me get the BUTTON to add. I had this problem a while ago and just gave up. Can anyone tell me if it’s something i am doing wrong. I have tried every possible configuration in Studio>>studio setup>>Midi port setup.
from reading your post I think you want to make your own MIDI remote script and take advantage of the MIDI remote to control your VSTI. You manage to make it all work except the button? Am I correct?
Good. So in order to access faders/knobs and buttons you’re using a user page of the Keylab. So, isn’t the midi remote surface responding to the “select” buttons below the faders? Or you’re talking about other buttons?
Ha Ha, I have not got a clue about that midi centre, wasn’t aware that i had to do something in there! Sorry but what do i do then? the manuals are not the best tbf
By default the USER pages have some CCs attached to the buttons. When you press one of them, you can see on the Led display the assignment. What do you see if for example you press the very first button?
did you check out the Midi Control Center app from Arturia? I have an Arturia miniLab and had the hardest time getting the multi-function push button to work with 2 functions. honestly, I can’t explain how I did it from the top of my head - BUT - I do remember that it was impossible to make it work just through the midi remote options in Cubase. So after much googling and reading, I realized that Arturia has an app called Midi Control Center. This app will show you all the functions, assigned addresses etc for your keyboard/controller. The way I did end up setting it up now I must run a script inside Midi Control Center every time my computer has been without power because then my Arturia controller loses power too. Once I load those specific settings and then load Cubase my miniLab works just like I want it to inside Cubase via the Remote Controller. Your controller has more features, but I think the principles would be the same.
The thing is glenn, I’m not to quick on the uptake, so i get annoyed when i can’t work something out. The arturia manuals are like trying to understand chinese when you have just been spiked with a powerful hallucinogenic. I have sent a plee for help from arturia support line but im not holding my breath.
Thanks for the info buddy.
