I’m a working composer, audio engineer and music producer - really depend on workflow to work within what I’m being paid, which is not a lot vs time spent.
This is a detour away from this conversation, different idea, but related.
perhaps it would be good if there was a Event Volume Editing track mode, in this mode, the primary editing objective is grabbing Event Volume points, and thus, all tools become Event Volume focused including the object selection tool. So, if you shift+click+drag on an event, it doesn’t select the event, it instead selects any Event Volume nodes.
A case example would be, having just recorded three tracks of vocals. sile…
I appreciate the suggestion, but if you knew what I was doing, how, and why, you would understand better. And I already have very time efficient workarounds and have my workflow dialed within the current Cubase paradigm. But I think my batch of MIDI suggestion threads would increase efficiency tenfold beyond what I can accomplish, some of which already is what you’ve kindly suggested.
These are fairly sufficient workarounds I already employ, so my suggestions are efficiency and workflow based.
Colourizing works, but you lose whatever you are switching from which for most is probably Velocity.
Dissolve Parts I do use and I do use multiple MIDI tracks sometimes to separate CC control from note triggering, but, depending on what this MIDI track is controlling and how, it’s much easier to work all on one track/part.
A big reason for the idea of a view filter… It’s actually abo…
It would be great if Steinberg came up with some better ways to manage multiple MIDI channels on one track.
For example, there is no way to record the same CC# for both MIDI Ch1 and MIDI Ch2 - they cancel each other out/overwrite.
I think to tackle this, likely they’d want to start by revamping MIDI CC Lanes, and the CC Lane selector menu becoming a proper window with more advanced management organized into MIDI Channels, or the ability to create additional CC lanes with different MIDI Ch. Som…
I would like the option to turn this on. It would need that channels with Edit in Place enabled get their own focus zones much like how the Projects Track Divider works. Once the user clicks into an Edit In Place zone, hotkeys are now focused to this Edit In Place channel. User can only click into one at a time.
using the ‘Project to Front’ shortcut key, would return focus to the general project window.
I would also appreciate a way to zoom only channels that have Edit In Place enabled. ‘Edit …

Hello people.
While there are many ways to use Event Volume and accomplish any given scenario, the whole experience could be more pleasing and care-free.

Instead of using a macro to split a range and apply a set DOP gain at once (which is fine), it would be interesting if there was an option for the range tool to automatically create its own Event Volume Control for any qualifying tracks. Then for a mouse based workflow it would be a matter of “drag to define range/drag up or do…
