Ive recently revisited an old track I created way back in 2020 and wanted to do some work on it to spruce it up. It may have been cubase 10 or 11. I now have cubase 14 pro and I get this message when loading the project
‘The plugin Prologue could not be found cubase’
after googling this it seems its been discontinued (along with a few others)
Is this true ?
If so, how can Steinberg do this ? The vst was an important part of this track, now its no longer available ? WTF !
One of the suggested workarounds was to copy SynthEngine.vst3 from cubase 10 or 11 or even 12 into the cubase folder im currently using (14 in my case)
this hasn’t worked, I still get the same error message and the vst isn’t available.
Is there any sort of workaround for this ? I would still like to use prologue. Also, what’s to stop Steinberg suddenly deciding to remove a bunch of other plugins at a whim ? It’s just not acceptable !

Unfortunately this is of no help to you whatsoever, but a reminder for anyone else reading this that have bumped problems with older projects - do export all your tracks to individual wav stems and put them away somewhere safe once your project is ‘complete’ .
(I know, I know … we all have half finished projects that we go back to after a while, and they never get exported).
I had a similar problem with an old project using a 32 Bit version of Retrologue, and although I managed to recover the plugin in the (revised) project, it didn’t show what patch it had been using.
I hope someone can come up with a solution for you for future reference for us all.
